St. Nicholas Council of Nicea Arius

ST. NICHOLAS
.
HE REALLY
DID PUNCH ARIUS,
WAS LOCKED UP AT
THE COUNCIL OF NICEA &
THEN VISITED BY JESUS & MARY
WHO RELEASED HIM FROM HIS CHAINS
(SEE BRIEF VIDEO BELOW FOR THE FULL STORY)

St. Nicholas was ONE OF THE CHURCHES GREATEST DEFENDERS OF the Catholic faith AGAINST HERESY. IN THIS CASE, THE ARIAN HERESY, WHICH DENIED THE DIVINITY OF CHRIST.

St. Nicholas was also a miracle worker
and a kind and generous bishop.

Because of the many miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as Nikolaos the Wonderworker. He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, a practice celebrated on his feast day―St Nicholas Day (6 December in Western Christianity and 19 December in Eastern Christianity); and thus became the model for Santa Claus. His reputation evolved among the faithful, as was common for early Christian saints. In 1087, part of the relics (about half of the bones) were moved to Bari, in Apulia, Italy; for this reason, he is also known as Nikolaos of Bari. The remaining bones were taken to Venice in 1100.

This funny, but accurate video from secular Fransciscan Russel Jonas Grigaitis OFS (which is being highlighted at the moment in the Catholic media)

Advent scripture

I
ADVENT &
MESSIANIC REVELATION
IN OLD TESTAMENT
SCRIPTURE

O COME O COME EMMANUEL

Advent means Christ is coming
and refers to His birth within salvation history. It means the welcoming and the arrival of a special king for us; it is our King of kings.

Hans Memling: Advent & the Triumph of Christ

This is what the Old Testament prophecies foretold concerning Jesus' Incarnation, the Word made flesh for our hope and Atonement that brought us our deliverance. Advent represents our expectation, anticipation, and preparation for whom Christ is and what He has done for us. He arrived into the world as a human being, being fully God and fully man. He came to identify as one of us, as the Son of Man, as a baby born in a manger. He came for us, He came for you, and He comes into our lives and into our hearts.

He is coming again in great power and glory to bring
His Kingdom into fruition.

Isaiah says,

"The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will hope in him." May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 15:12-13).

Advent Catholic Lincolnshire

ADVENT

REJOICE!

HE IS NEARLY HERE!

ADVENT IS A TIME OF PURIFICATION
BEFORE WE RECEIVE CHRIST IN TO OUR
LIVES AT CHRISTMAS. IT ISN'T ALWAYS OBVIOUS WHAT
TO DO AT ADVENT, HOWEVER CHRIST IS ON HIS WAY SO IT IS THE
BEST TIME OF YEAR TO PUT OUR HOUSE IN ORDER SO
WE ARE READY FOR HIS ARRIVAL.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO AT ADVENT IS
GO TO CONFESSION SO THAT WE CAN RECEIVE
CHRIST AT CHRISTMAS WITH
A PURE HEART

ADVENT & THE ANNUNCIATION

ADVENT & THE VISITATION
OF MARY TO ELIZABETH

ADVENT & THE BIRTH OF
SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST

ADVENT & THE NATIVITY AT NIGHT

There is no white candle on an Advent wreath inside a Catholic Church,
because the Easter Paschal Candle represents the Light of Christ.
